  • Jetta boot release

I found out by accident that holding down the boot release button for a few seconds pops the boot automatically. How cool (yeah it's probably in the manual, I haven't got to that bit yet).

Now if only it was motorised to close like the S-class I hired in Germany last year ...

You mean holding down the door release button . ..
or are you telling us , quite literally, holding down the boot release pops the boot open.. heh heh.

mmmm, motorised boot closing. ..very cool indeed.. actually saw a Lexus RX do its automatic closing thing several weeks ago at my local golf course, and it was pretty cool i admit.
Though Im at the stage in my life where I feel im quite capable of handling this tremedously difficult operation for now.

And how goes the Jetta up in Qld ....
Have you sussed out the reversing mirrors dipping bit yet when selecting R?

Heheh. I just thought it was cool, most cars only let it click open

Nah doesn't work anymore ... will be looked at at the 1000km service next week.

My dealer said the 15,000k service would be the first service the car would need. Are you just doing the 1,000k service for peace of mind, or did the dealer recommend it?

If you hold the boot release button on the remote control the boot will open all the way. The Passat has an auto closing option which can be fitted at time of production. The jetta does not.. I tell all my customers to get a 1000-1500km check done, just incase they have any concerns about the vehicle and to check all the fluid levels. Some other dealers refuse to do this servie/check-up.

Dealer recommended, and it's free (gotta get something for my $3k dealer delivery fee!).

ssoooo, I hit the boot release button on the remote, and the boot opens all the way... (at least that's what it does on my car).

If I hold the boot release button down longer, it will still open all the way?

              Must be missing something here

Will play with it later today after I get my car back..

                Another good trick ....

Did you know that when locking the car, if you hold the locking button down for a few seconds that this will close any windows left open and also your sun roof if you have one!!

                Now that looks cool .....

Also, you can hold dow the unlock key which will open all your windows at the same time ... a good way to release the built up heat from your car before you hop in on a hot day

Note - this will not open your sunroof though.

Geez I need to get a life and stop reading Manuals all day lol!

                  Good find JD,

My A3 did that as well, but forgot to apply that knowledge to the Jetta...

As for reading manuals, I always tell our sub-contractors and client to R.T.F.M.

Ah ... see if I just touch mine, it won't open. I have to press and hold for a couple of seconds (like the time you have to hold down to wind up windows).

                      Very fascinating..
Always good to know the various information from all my fellow Jetta owners.

Do say once you get yr checkup, what the feedback is regarding the reverse dipping mirrors ... it must be just an option / menu select ..........surely......
