If you don't mind I might ask you in a few months how the film is working out.
Neil, in the meantime I can report that I had one of my cars done by James 18 months ago when new and it looks as good as the day it was fitted. The numberplate is showing signs of wear (slightly pitted and chipped) but the paint is perfect.
I hit a bird at speed and it marked the bra so I had the bonnet piece replaced. Without the bra I would have been repainting the bonnet I'm sure. The film is very tough and yet hard to see.

Good to know mhh, unless someone actually provides the info you just did, users are in the dark as to how the product performs over time.
Thanks very much..

Hey there. . definitely can't tell anything has been applied.
Very nice.
How long did it take ? were you there .. ie, did you leave the car or did you get it done at yr place - I notice it needs to be done undercover, etc etc.

Yeh, it was done at our offices in the rear warehouse.
Took almost 5 hours - had to give the areas that were to be cleaned a quick high pressure blast at the local car wash before James did his work. That was to get rid of any hidden dirt otherwise it may have gotten under the contact.
It has to be done in an undercover clean environment.

"Took 5 hours" Is this correct Geoff.
Maybe he covered the whole car in 5 hours and thats the reason we
can't see it.

Bought the bullet (especially after myself or my lovely wife) slightly scratched the back of the boot lid when squeezing past it in the garage.
I am getting the following done next week by James (Invisible Car Bra guy):
Rear bumper wrapped to wheel arches and vertical flat section of boot lid.
All four doors fully covered (including half moon recessed area behind door handles).
Too much you may think, not I

I was going to get this, but I was told they can only do the front of the bonnet. Problem is I seem to get stone chips up the top of the bonnet and the roof somehow.
Instead I found I could just get the bonnet stripped and resprayed every few years for the same price.

James is booked for Tuesday morning to measure the doors, rear bumper and boot lid so he can make up some templates.
I have picked up stone chips on the leading edge of the roof before as well.
Majorly sucks..
Can I ask who said that only the front of the bonnet could be done?

Had the doors, complete rear bumper and back of boot lid, etc done last Friday. Very happy, thanks James Feel happier now that idiot's in car parks can do less damage to my doors.

Hi JJ,
The pricing for the Jetta was as follows.
Bumper $377.75
Bonnet, guards and external mirrors $256.80
Lights $63.50
Sooo, the above works cost $698.05 inc GST.
Then I had all doors (including outer edges of the door handles), complete rear bumper, leading edges of rear wheel arches, back lip of boot.
Cost for those works was about $800 to $900 (I'm currently at work, will confirm tonight). James replaced the bonnet section of film (from initial works) at the same time as the second lot of works due to the film not settling properly (no charge for that).
James had to come out a couple of weeks later and completely replace the front passenger door film (no charge again) as it had a couple of imperfections and a bit of crud stuck under the film as well.
James does do the east coast a bit, not sure about the west coast. You could certainly contact him and ask.
Cheers,
Geoff.

I do a lot of highway driving and these products are worth their weight in gold. Without it the front of my car is a real mess.
If you want to save a bit you can buy the kit and install yourself.
You can get a kit in the genuine 3M film for about $100 (bonnet only) or $200 full kit - front bumper etc.
or for an even cheaper option you can get the same thing is a slightly lesser quality film for about $60 delivered.
I have just bout this one. I have had this on a previous car and was very happy with it. It is less tough than the expensive 3M film, but it is still very good and pretty easy to install. When I first put it on I was a bit disappointed as there were some small bubbles etc, but after a few days they all disappeared and it looked good - basically hard to tell it was even there.
It was also very easy to remove when I sold the car and left no marks - just perfect condition paint underneath. I'd have to be honest and say its probably not as good as the 3M film 9although I have never actually used it) and the DYI install may not be as perfect as a professional, but I was very happy - it did what I wanted ie. kept my paint in great condition. and is about $500 cheaper.
Anyway - just another option if your interested in this but looking for a cheaper option.
