I just checked what i was getting charged through SGFleet. 08 GTI DSG with all the extras. I'm in NSW and between 35 - 40 Had a 60% no claims and it was $1150 but went up to $1340 last year. generally speaking the novated lease company give you a big discount as they have so many cars under management. My mate has an Audi S5 on lease and he falls into the top category of $1850.

Just got private insurance for the Jetta 2.0T and it was $1227 through Allianz

      Hope that helps.

Location has a huge impact on insurance as well.. ive found more so then age. Moving from Sydney north shore to Newcastle reduced my insurance down to $950 from $1300. I am 25 Male and have had no accidents..

Ouch... young driver? What's the age excess?
My 08gti is like a third of that price, not under finance though.

I was surprised at what SGFleet wanted to charge me, was twice what my quotes were, so I went with my insurer and just got it refunded - they will let you do that.

When I first bought my car (2.5 years ago), I was a 22yr old male with no claim history. I paid $1090 through justcar insurance for full comprehensive cover (i know most of you are saying "oh no... not them"). But when I got side swiped, I had the car fixed in 1 week at a reputable panel beater.. perfect job, no hasstles or anything! All I had to do was give them the other drivers details and they did the rest!

I've just bought an 05 GTI with DSG & Xenons, 36,000k, located in Brisbane, 31 with good history (rating 1)
Ended up going with Suncorp, full comprehensive, windscreen cover and hire car option too, excess of $500.
They're charging me $580p/a seems cheap compared to others!

I got quotes from all the major companies, the worst being Allianz of about $1200.

I think I'll stick with Suncorp
