relevance to a tyre thread?

Does anyone have any comments about Yokohama AC02's? Are these the same as C Drives?
I have been quoted $ 222.00 per tyre.
They are the 'C' drive 2.
I've done 30,000km in the Jetta so far and they look like they still have 4mm of tread left. Probably get 55,000 - 60,000km out of them.
They are quieter than the original 'C' drive that I got 59,000km out of 2 and 46,000 out of the other 2 (poor rear whl align)
I paid $200.00 ea for the set of 4 back almost 12 months ago. They are 205/55/16 94V size.
I happy as with these.
Oh and I reckon I'm getting about 20 - 30 km extra out of a tank of fuel too! I've got a record of every litre put into the car since new and the only reason I can put better fuel economy too since having these on is the tyres. The car has done 179,000km to date.
Thanks BeigeJet, good to hear that have lasted awhile.
I am still on the original Continentals after 81,000kms ... although they have probably been ready for replacing for a few kms. Most of my travel is highway kms and I pump them up to 37psi almost weekly. I also changed from front to back a few times so all 4 tyres would need replacing at once.
I am deciding on either the Yokohama C Drive, Yokohama S Drive or Continentals. My only complaint about the Continentals is the road noise which I understand Yokohama's would be quieter. The tyre size I am looking at is 225/45/17.
I have not got a price on the S Drive but expect these would obviously be more expensive. Does anyone know how the S Drives compare to the C Drive for (1) grip, and (2) wear?

Got some Bridgestone Potenza S001's just fitted. Excellent combination of grip and comfort. A lot quieter than my Adrenalin RE002's. These are 235/40/18's.
I'm a big fan of the Pilot Sport 3's. Good price, and they seem to last a decent distance for soft tyres. I get about 40,000kms, although they are usually still got thread on them when I get rid of them. Pot holes...
Just stuck some 205 55 16s PS3's on my Jetta. Good reviews and not too expensive. Still running them in but will be keen to see how they go.
The other family car is a Mk5 Golf TDI. Usually has 205 55 16s on as well. Saw some 17" wheels for sale ( same stud pattern and offset) but with 235 45 17's on them. Would these fit the Golf without scraping? The car has not been lowered or any other work done on it. Would there be pluses or minuses to fitting them?
235/45r17 should be OK for clearance but you'd need to check your speedo accuracy (use a GPS) as well & plug the numbers into one of the tyre size caalculators.
I know they'd be fine on my Skoda (better actually).
