clicking noise coming from steering wheel/egbition

I have a clicking noise coming from the steering wheel or egnition area. it comes and goes. mainly happens at start up when taking off and comes on and off every now and then. don't need to be turning wheel for clicking to happen. car is an 07 my08 r32 dsg.
anyone had similar problem

Could be the S contact in the ignition switch?

I actually have a similar issue. When driving I can hear a clicking noise coming from under my steering wheel.

It's like something is rotating and clicking, it gets faster and slower with the car.
