I also have this in mine. Does anyone know what buttons to push on the head unit to get it working?

Depends on the head unit but it's pretty easy to find otherwise check the manual.

I noticed today that if you hit CD twice it works on your stock standard cd player. Also your volume needs to be up somewhat on the source device (ie. mp3 player).

Question: Do roof racks in AUS exist for 3 door mk5's? I can see that they do in europe by searching for this: 1K0071126 / 1K0071126 - Google Search . Alternatively, are there other methods for carrying around a bike?

Strap on bike rack? I have one for my car and it works ok. I'm keen to get roof racks as well, but I think you're better off going to Super Cheap and getting some from there.

Oh and I'd be happy to sell you the BT module if you're still interested.

I'm seriously thinking about getting the fiscon unit now due to the ad2p support and general coolness of the mfd stuff. I don't know if I want a standard one anymore

Fair enough, my module came out of mum's Tig as dad wasn't happy with it and upgraded to the full unit from HP.

Massive difference? RNS 510 makes a massive difference. Not fussed about MFD. Both old and new MFD's lack a nice big number showing which gear your in (Manual mode on DSG). 30g hdd is a great.

Full hieght MFD is good, gives you the ability to change a lot of the options on your car. I'm the opposite to be honest, I have an RCD-500 and I think it's more than enough

I'll have the MFD2 which is the precursor. Pretty good, just no touch screen. Will do everything I want esp. with the filson module (using phone for music).

Do all of the cars have the installed microphone in the overhead light? or do you need to manually install them?
