  • What would you pay for a 2010 plated NEW Jetta 118 TSI DSG?

    Hi
We have settled on purchasing a Jetta 118 TSI DSG. Given its January, we would be getting a 2010 plated Jetta - and there is a new model coming out later this year. On that basis, i would think we'd have a case for a good discount.

Curious to know what sort of deal members think we could negotiate - ie how much of a discount off the Drive Away RRP of $37,832 (we are in Sydney and would be paying cash in full). What would you pay? Anyone bought recently??

    thanks!

Just becasue the new model is coming out this year doesn't mean that you will get a discount on the current model.
VW are only likely to do a run out sale the month before the new model is released if not the month that it is released.

All cars being sold now are going to be 2010 plated so the deal isn't going to be groundbreaking imho.
Generally the 2010 plate deals only come into effect for the EOFY sale or the sales in September/December.

I would guess between 5-10% discount would be expected off RRP.

What team_v said. VW don't carry the huge inventory like some manufs, so end of year models are a huge problem for them. They don't have hundreds of vehicles sitting on the docks losing value like Toyota/Mitsu/Nissan etc so not the same incentive to "clear" stocks.

I paid $34,000 for my 2.0TSI, so I'm fairly certain you can get that or a lot less.

Was your previous Jetta traded in ???

Or was $34000 the drive away price,as that would be very cheap.

It was $34,000 before the trade in figure. After the pay out for my diesel, the TSI cost me about $27,000.
