Well it had to happen!

After 2 & 1/2 awesome years of trouble free ownership i sold my GTI. I got the payout figure on my lease from my yearly statement and noticed i had 4k up on the residual and with values dropping due to the MKVI i thought i'd move it and pocket some change. I have also moved back into the CBD for work so it was just sitting in the driveway for the weekend cruise. A carsales ad and 2 days later it was sold! It was in absolute showroom condition so i did have the upper hand.

I told my wife i would drive her Passat and get her a newish car. We went looking and low and behold what did she see but a mint 08 Jetta with DSG, Tints, 40km and a 3 year extended warranty and the 40k service for $22.5k!!!! Gotta love shopping on the first day back after Xmas!!!!!. Oh and its the FSI Turbo yeehaa i have my GTI back!!!!.

I am so impressed with the size of the boot which is huge!, I notice the handling a little different to the GTI in the rear but a sway bar will sort that out and i'm going to swap the DSG shifter for the GTI version as i loved it.

All in all i'm stoked! Pics will be posted after the service!

Congrats on the Jetta. My girlfriend and I just acquired a Turbo FSI Jetta a couple of months ago and yes, they are unreal hey. The boot is as big as my XR8's but more importantly, it is deeper which makes it a little more useful. The jetta is a great car with plenty of kit, and kick!! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Sell GTI, use wife's Passat and buy wife the Jetta.
Why not keep the GTI and let the wife keep the Passat?

Congrats on the new purchase! Jetta's are great cars. And the TSI is a fantastic compromise between the GTI and boot space.

Yep its already started. Ordered a Motorola TK30 Bluetooth and media kit (IPOD+USB+AUX IN+CHARGER). R seat + wheel inserts, GTI pedals and DSG Shifter. Of course i'll be getting her flashed as well.
