Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

    Show phone number of Bluetooth call on RCD300

    Hey guys,

    I have the RC300 head unit with the Bluetooth car kit. Do you guys know if it's possible for it to show the number of the person calling on the screen?

    Or is there a way of upgrading the version of the either RCD300 or the Bluetooth car kit to allow this to happen?

        Hey mlevit.

        Sorry but the RCD300 won't do that, period.

        You will need an RNS510 if you want to see it on the screen, but if you have a full height trip computer, which i doubt being an 06 model, then you can get the VW bluetooth kit which will show the phonebook in there.

        So RNS510 is the go. They can be had second hand for under $1500 or from O/S for about $1000 shipped.

            Yep, RCD510 will be fine, but to use either in an 06 you will need to upgrade the gateway.
