Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Golf GTI Wedding cars?

A good friend is getting married tomorrow on NYE in the Hunter Valley.

He said 'gee wedding cars are so expensive on a new years eve'

So the outcome with the following cars behind a Black Range Rover Sport was:

2010 MY10 Black Golf GTI Black Leather DSG Detroits Sat Nav (brother is laws)

2008 MY09 Black Golf GTI Cream Leather DSG Detroits (mine)

2007 MY07 Black Golf GTI Manual (The grooms)

I think this will look ok? thoughts?

It is going to save him an abosloute fortune! - plus i was going to drive up there from sydney anyway. Just wish i could drive two at the same time.

I'll post pictures early in the new year.

    Cheers.

Why not? I think they will look great - esp 3 in procession.

Get rid of the Range Rover and it'll look even better.

Thats pretty lucky that you have 3 Black GTI's in the family. I think it would look fine, previously for my sisters wedding we used my car at the time which was a Audi B5 A4 1.8T my brothers Lexus is200 and my uncles Bmw 540i, even though they were all different makes they were all dark coloured so looked great on the day.

All's well that ends with taking a bridesmaid home at the end of the night!

i was a driver in a friends wedding procession last year.

3 x black mini Cooper S (1 x convertible for bride to show off in!)
the other 2 drivers are massive petrol heads as is the bride.

you can draw lots of comparisons with italian job... it really was the most fun i think i've ever had in a car. screeching from pyrmont to CBD (no1 martin place) and back to jones bay wharf. we left quite a bit of rubber behind. (rentals).
Current - MY16 2015 Octavia VRS Wagon 220 tsi DSG Corrida Red, tech, Leather, 18" black

I had a black MKV GTI and GT Sport following a black A8 at my wedding. People seemed to think it looked good.

My brother had 2 A8's and 3 A6's at his wedding, looked great as they were all different colours.
