  • MKV Coil Pack Recall?

I had my 60km service done the other day and they noted there was a coil pack recall. so now I have a new set of coils, cant complain.

Am I like a year behind this recall or is it somewhat fresh?

I had the old coil packs in my car since new, only changed them at about 55,000km. I never had an issue with them and they still didnt even need to be changed!.. thought I would incase of performance issues. Mind you, I was on stage 2 for about 25,000km with them.

            Hey guys,

did this coil pack recall include MKV 2.0 TDIs?
My engine isn't starting anymore and VAG-COM not showing any fault codes. Did exclude all the silly options (filled up oil and petrol, battery fine, no leaks anywhere).
            Car has 40,000km and is a 2006.

            Any ideas?

The cars this recall applys to seems really random. I own an 07/07 GTI with the same BWA motor and my dealer told me the recall doesn't affect my car? Is there a logic to be followed as to what cars fit the criteria? Anyone know?

No coilpacks in a TDI. Compression ignition with diesel.

                    Prices vary.

                    Petrol/diesel?

                    Auto/DSG/Manual?

                    FWD/4Motion?

well it can come down to a number of things, if you have a look for the part number on the ignition coil some are okay and some are not. It usually comes down to when the part was manufactured

Yeah, we had this too when our Mk5 was in for a service recently.

Our GTI has only done 50000kms, but being 4 1/2 years old (Aug 06 build, Nov 06 delivery) Lennock did the 60K service for the princely sum of $940 (IIRC).
