GTI Eclipse?

This photo was taken in Singapore of what is referred to there as a GTI Eclipse.

I had never seen one before, basically a 3 door MKV ... but with glass on the rear quarter panel.

Obviously this car did not come to Australia, but also did not seem to find any information using google. I was just curious really. Does anyone know about this car?

Good point, you may be right.

My father-in-law took the photo and I never actually saw the car. He said it was glass which I thought was strange, so the stick on mod sounds like a more reasonable explanation!

There is no way that the C pillar would be replaced with glass in the golf. VW would never do it. They haven't changed it in 6 generations of the car and they wouldn't do it with a one off LE. Besides, it would not hold up in a rollover.
