Reversing lights - one or two?

Hi, someone just pointed out that only one of my reversing lights is working - I know that in some European cars eg 307 only have one reversing light - is the GTI the same? I could have sworn that my previous Mk IV had two...

I did read the manual and couldn't see anything conclusive other than a reference to the 'reversing light' - which I suppose implies one light.

I have had people screaming at me because "only one of your reverse lights is working buddy!!".

and also get the "you left your lights on mate" (due to security lighting or whatever its called) a lot too, not that it bothers me as thats just people trying to save your ass from a flat battery

I'm always being told about leaving my lights on. I tell them that the car will soon turn them off and they look at me with a funny face as if that is something beyond their comprehension. People are funny.

Yep, day 2 of ownership I copped it about the reverse light out business and every night these days I get the yell of "hey mate, you left your lights on".
I like the trick of walking near the car and someone is looking at it. I hit the remote and unlock it and put the windows down. People jump back very smartly! Mind you, I am usually resonably close to it "just in case"!

Thanks guys - have had the reverse light not working told to me about 10 times already! Surprised that it is set up this way - I am sure my Mk IV has two reverse lights.

How do you get the windows to go down, my remote only appears to unlock the doors. Is that a dealer set option?

MKIV has only one reverse light as well.

Hold the unlock button down continuosly after the doors unlock should do the trick, and same for locking up....shuts sunroof too (after windows) if you have one
