  • Upgraded from Mk4 GTI to MK5 Jetta

Hi guys, I just bought a black Jetta 2.0T DSG and am loving it!

I sold my stock silver MK4 GTI to buy it.

The Jetta is such a nice drive, the engine is so smooth and powerful and it handles pretty well too. The car has leather, sunroof, Charlestons and a lip spoiler.

Just one pic for now, I'll take proper ones later.

    These are such great cars!

    Dave.

Looks decent, is it the 147kw engine?
A tune should make this thing fly when mated to the DSG.

    The charleston's look ace.
    Nice pickup.

Yeah, it's the 147kw beastie. It's pretty rapid and feels good with the latest DSG software etc.
I'd love to tune it but the missus put a ban on any performance mods in the near future after I copped a pretty major speeding fine two weeks ago (don't tell Rocket...)

It certainly pulls well stock, and handles quite sharply with the 18s wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics.

        Great set of tyres there.
Shame about the CFO banning any mods, the remap is an awesome mod and improves fuel economy when driven for the conditions.

On the upside, it only takes an hour or so to get it done so you can do it covertly lol.

I agree, do it on the sly. She will never know as the program is switchable. If she ever asks to take it for a drive just switch it back to stock...

Well, it's basically a MKV Golf GTI with a boot that's why it performs so well.

            Divorce the wife! Problems solved.

Haha my old man reflashed his Golf TDI on the sly but I can't get away with it - she's the CFO and manages all the banking etc.
There would be hell to pay if $2000 went missing and I'm not the type to ask forgiveness in lieu of permission.

We'll get there one day though, she's into cars and recently suggested that our next machine should be an FPV F6 Typhoon...

If you put $5 away everyday for the next year you will have enough, surely she doesnt count the change in your ash tray??

You don't need $2000 for a flash. Superchips Bluefin tunes are available direct from Superchips UK for AUD$585 inc shipping. Best part about a bluefin tune is that you keep your original map and you can put on and take off the tune when you need to.i.e. just before a service.

If the Missus is worried about you speeding she should have insisted on a Hyundai Getz She must have been teasing you with the suggestion of an F6 Typhoon. Be happy with the Jetta and may the Force not be with you
