I must say, pretty good resale values still.
    Actually it was an N13

Yeah, I agree with you there, the standard wheels do look a bit ...meh... and definitely will be pretty hard to clean with the spoke count.
So much so, dependant on finance, Im considering just swapping rims for something a bit more open .. But i'll probably stick to 17" - I've moved from a harder sprung car and I want some plushness. or do looks win..
Age old question. Each to their own i say.
Yeah it was a tough choice for me, but in the end looks won out. A bumpier ride should also help send my 5mth old son off to sleep too

          They look absolutely fantastic.

I thought it might look a bit high with the standard suspension, but the car looks really, really sweet.

          Congrats Dion

            The car looks great DionM

I just need to figure out how to get the funds released from the missus to put on a set of 18s on the MkV....

DionM - Nice nice .. . heh heh .. so how's your first weekend driving... been enjoying it no doubt...Mt Glorious you mentioned?

hmmm, the 18" do look really sweet on the car. . .. fills the wheel arches nicely.
Bridgestone's eh .. excellent. I'll keep fingers crossed my Jetta is fitted with the same tyres as well.
JP_Aircooled_TDi - yeah . .. i need some pragmatic reasons why 18" are much better than 17" as well.

First weekends driving was nice. Didn't do Mt Glorious, figured there was a little too much closed throttle action coming back down for a new engine, so just took it easy out through Samford. Liked it though, the DSG is fantastic!

Looks awesome DionM, of course I would say that as it is almost an exact copy of mine The differences are subtle but my windows are tinted, there's a tiny "Tuned" badge below the 2.0 FSi badge (that's APR Tuned but I liked the look without the APR bit) and as of today a nice Carbonio CAI under the bonnet!

Hopefully I'll see you at the next Brisbane cruise so the twins can play

                  Cheers,

Heheh yeah pretty weird that. Then again, the BG and the 18s are a nice choice in the Jetta Might even see you round town.

Shall try and get to a cruise, I have a 6mth old son who is a bit fussy (likes the rough ride and engine noise of our 2001 Jeep in preference to the quieter Jetta, hopefully he will get used to it soon!).

Oh I fitted the genuine VW bootliner on the weekend too. Not a bad price - $138 from Austral. Also fitted some rubber floor mats to the passenger side and rear seats, couldn't find a mat small enough to fit the driver's side (due to foot rests and accelerator off the floor; had to trim others a fair bit too).

Yes I know the Jetta has factory mats, but I prefer rubber ones - just laying them over the top of the factory mats for now.
