2007 GTI MKV - Nav owners, spare me 5 mins please?

Hi guys,

I know our forums are bombarded with RNS510 questions, so bear with me

I have a 2007 GTI and would like to retro-fit an RNS510, and VW bluetooth unit. The thing is, there are so many different versions and firmware(s), it is quite hard to make a decision if you are new to the VW Nav game.
Then there is the CanBUS debate. I'm not sure if I need to update it, but if I do which CanBUS is a suitable unit for my car?
Same with the Bluetooth, different versions, some working with some MFD's and iphones, some not.

Hopefully someone here could take a couple of minutes to recommend to me the best (with part no.):

- RNS 510 unit
- VW bluetooth unit
- CanBUS unit (if necessary)
- I'd also like to stream bluetooth music via my iphone4 IF possible

My GTI is a 2007 (MY0 built with full height RED colour MFD display and currently running a MFD2-DVD NAV unit. Any help would be most appreciated, as i'm very keen to purchase the items I need from eBay or similar, but am stumped with the myriad of options available!

Will pay with some free car photos of the most helpful members!

As you have already have a full height MFD ,the RNS510 will work once swapped over
There are plenty of VW Bluetooth kits available from England [Ebay] you can also buy a Ipod adapter but really you don't need it as the RNS 510 can take up to a 32 GIG SD card so you will have all the music you will ever need.
Once you install your RNS510 its only a matter of getting some one with a VAG to program your MFD so all the Data is shown on it .

Bluetooth wise same deal, there is a 9W3 and others, i'm happy to with what ever works the best but not sure which part no's to look for on eBay/Internet etc.

The one i bought is a 2010 C version with 2760 firmware as yours is a 2007 you shouldn't have any problems. i bought mine from Lithuania
but i asked for more warranty [from 30 days to 90] and I'm very happy but you need to buy a Aerial adapter i got mine from Poland for $21
or you can buy it here VW dealer $45 , i paid $950 including postage.

I bought a RNS510 off ebay over the weekend and just ordered the aerial adapter from the link you posted above, so all should be sweet.

Now just need to line up a Bluetooth solution and MDI!

There's plenty of Bluetooth kits on Ebay from England going for $450, My Aerial took only 6 days to arrive from Poland.
What did you pay for your RNS 510 ? and where did you buy it from mine came in 4 days from Lithuania.
