  • car seems down on power - wet weather?

    hi all

in the last few days of continuous rain, I seem to feel the car is a little down on power. ANyone else in the wet notice that?

Still running 98RON, but the car just doesn't seem to quite have that wheel-spinning force...which I thought would be even worse in the wet.

Speaking of fuel, any comments on Mobil 98 vs BP 98? I always try to use the BP, but the BP servo near me is closed for repairs!

Any thoughts on the power loss and /or fuel?

    Hi there,
Yes I notice it too. I guess it might be the extra drag caused by standing water that tyres have to push aside.

I notice the drag when I have to ride my bike in the rain. So it must also have quite an effect on motor vehicles, especially when they have 4 ~200+mm wide patches of rubber that have to overcome all that standing water.

    cheers

that would be your traction control system at work, turn off esp then take it for a drive , you won't put the power down but it will be there trying :p
