Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Recommendations for Premium Diesel Fuel for TDi

I would be interested to know what Brand diesel fuel TDI owners use and recommend.
I have read about the following Caltex Vortex Diesel, BP Ultimate Diesel, Shell Diesel 10.
    Do you have any recommendations?
    Regards,

Whatever I happen to drive past if I need fuel, as long as it's a bigger station that looks like trucks use it.

    It's really not that important.

Our dealer has expressed a strong preference for BP in SE Qld.
Something about TDIs coming in with fuel related 'issues'.

Vortex premium diesel from Cessnock/Bellbird is my only experience up your way.
Normally I use BP Normanhurst but there's no BP premium diesel in NSW.

Last time I was at this Cessnock outlet, a bloke had just filled his ZZ-Top hotrod, though obviously not with diesel.
It's a good place to start the drive to Wollombi / Great North Road. Great drive.

BP religiously and Caltex Vortex if this isn't available. Shell seems problematic from what little I've read, and I avoid.

Yeah BP religiously. The reason why is because it has the highest cetane number. Caltex Diesel Vortex and Shell Diesel aren't bad fuels though.

I use caltex premium diesel cause i thought it was the best but if you guys are saying BP is the way to go i might look around.. i dont think caltex is a bad choice though... i would never go to a brand ive never heard of e.g. something with a name like bobs cheap fuels. i love my baby way to much
