  • help with trip computer on GTI

Since last service, - everytime i start the car the computer resets in regards to L/100KMS etc... Which is something i wouldn't mind having stay put instead of resetting everytime i turn on and off my car. So i know how much i am using overall most of the time instead of only trips from a to b. then reset.

The car is GTI - I have had a look through the manual - but for some reason can't seem to work it out?...is it just me?...

has anyone had any similar problems that they might have had - if so could you please help me - instead of driving it to the shop to fix it up....

    thanks seamus.

Are you in trip mode 1 or 2? Press the select button briefly (long press = full reset) to toggle between 1 and 2.

Mode 1 resets when the car has been parked for a period of time.
Mode 2 resets when you reset by long hold of select button.

Perhaps the dealer has inadvertantly switched from 2 to 1.

I believe Mode 1 resets after 2 hours without use and Mode 2 after 100 hours regardless.
Both can be reset as docjames has described.
