  • Welcome a new, shy member!

hatzenbach....stand up and take a bow!

Hatzenbach is the proud new owner of a 3Dr blue MvV R32, DSG. Loves his cars, has driven the 'Ring and should give the Sydney guys some value for money with his antics......

......push him a little, he can't say no to peer pressure and will start mod'ing with a little encouragement.....HPA twin turbo did I hear someone say????

His only post so far is about his pretty heated seats....maybe he is a little soft!

Kudo's tho....drove the 'Ring on his honeymoon....

        Blur32,

next year we will be going to THE GREEN HELL together minus the handbags..haha.

I only wish now i had not had an Opel Astra as my hire car with 60kgs of luggage in the back. An amazing exp though, in the first 4 laps, 5 bike riders and 3 cars lunched it, with one bike closing the whole track ( 20km+ ) for over 1 hour.

What surprised me about the ring the most is how SERIOUS people take it.

So many stripped out MK1-MK3 golfs that sound like DTM front runners.

Lots of 3 person teams as well, 1 or 2 are out lapping with helmets, then they come into the thru lane in the pits, jump out and swap with 1 or 2 more waiting for them. Great way to have a stupid quick sunday racer at a fraction of the cost.

There wont be much peer pressure needed to pursuade me to mod,
even the salesperson knew about HPA.. i thought it was a strange selling tool.

        I love my car.

I know Blur32 loves his and found out this morning that he has one as well.

there is going to be some cool roadies happening soon my friend.

Can anyone is sydney confirm ANY details about sunday @ oran?

I have got no reply from eurocar about it.

Welcome hatzenbach. Got any pics of your trip to the 'Ring?? Would be great eye candy for us who still dream of seeing and driving it in person!

Call Paul about the GTI Nationals. He's the owner of EuroCarDriver, and the number escapes me at the moment, but should be on the site somewhere.

I have more photos but most of them are, well i call lame.

my wife had to get out after 1 lap as she felt sick.

as for times, i did not really go there to go nuts and kill myself but i did manage a 10.04.

for a stock sh#t box hire car, i thought was ok.

On my last lap i realised i had not taken my eyes off the immeadiate road in front and behind me, so i cruised ( quickly!) and took in the scenery.

Imagine driving out to Bathurst, putting money in a paystation, get your ticket, throw away rule book( except for keeping right for faster cars behind )
and go as fast as you want. It could never happen here. Germans and all of europe are so lucky

for a stock sh#t box hire car, i thought was ok.

biggest issue was uphill, the long run uphill to Klostertal i was battling to get to 150kph!

i had a hayabusa moto come past me on the back wheel at @ least 60kph faster!.

so much traffic on weekends. more time is spent keeping out of moto's way than concentrating on own driving. very minimal room 4 error on 90% of the track. For moto's even less. lots of club type environment going on in z car park.

i will go back much better prepared next time.

I have just heard that Avis and companies like are now employing spotters at the circuit to look for their high end cars on the ring. Cars have been coming back with no tread and brakes that smell like a train. 2500 excess has been reported as a damage excess. considering you can get a 911cs or RS4 for under 200 euro a day this probably makes sense for them.

                not good for us though!

Welcome to the forum ... and you sure said a mouthful about Bathurst and us not have unlimited speed autobahns. I think they've even put limits on NT roads now (could be wrong, but I heard 130 or 150 ... either of which would be better than the crappy 110 on highways in Q'land (money making exercise if you ask me).

                  Dave.
