Door lock broken question for MY08 GTI

So after only 3 weeks of ownership, my passenger front door lock has gone it seems! Got it booked in to be fixed Sept 29. Fortunately I still have warranty and have extended it as well so hopefully my wallet won't be affected.

So question is... given this seems to be a common issue on these cars. Does the problem ever reappear in a door that has been fixed by VW?

My partner isnt happy about riding in the back seat

Yes, it is a known issue. Do a search and you will find a thread on it.
And it doesn't reappear after replacement.

Just make it up to him by joining him in the backseat (when the car is stationary).

I had seen many references to the door issue in other threads. Just didn't remember seeing any references as to whether it reoccurred in a door that had been fixed.

I'm loving the car so much, I felt a bit personally offended when the door failed... then I got over myself when I realised it didnt affect ME terribly! ha
