Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • buying/selling a car through pickles

    All,

My lease is about to expire on my MY07 GTI (EOI on classifieds) and I am considering my options. One of which is to sell the car via the pickles auction house. Have any of you used these to sell a car. If so, what was the experience like, did you meet the residual payment, what is the experience like for the buyer?

Any feedback is welcome to assist my decision making.

    Cheers

    Rickardo

Pickles Auctions is no place to sell your vehicle unless u have no other choice. like your financial world is about to end. Please remember that a lot of dealers buy from auctions. So if they are willing to pay for a car at auction I am sure you could sell direct and save both time and gain some more money.. Without the seller or the buyer paying Fees.

Auctions are worst case imho unless you have GTHO Phase III or something? From which u put into a special auction anyway.

You could place the car on Carsales only costs about $10 or Ebay but you will have to pay a percentage.
Look on Carsales as there are always GTI on there and see what prices people are asking for their cars .
Then you will know roughly what price to ask.
