Is there a way to add just a subwoofer to the stock 10 speaker setup?

    hi all

I'm quite happy with the overall sound of the RCS500 (is that the stock non-Navigation, 6 stacker unit?), except could do with a little more bass depth.

Was wondering if anyone has found a 'plugin' sub that maybe sits under the front seat, or under the back seat, or in the boot, that can connect quite easily to the existing speaker wires (or amp)?

I'm not into the 'doof-doof' sound...mainly rock and jazz

    cheers

Do a search as there have been a number of threads about this with plug and play units that sit under the seat.

IIRC around $400 for the units in Australia and $200 from the UK for a similar unit.

I put a Clarion SRV-313 in the boot. It's tiny so not much noise but adds a bit.

I just used the rear high level channels to drive it (picked the wires off at the base of the b-pillars).

If you want huge doof-doof then don't bother but I'm happy with what it added.

Don't be a numpty like me though and hang the sub off the rear parcel shelf. The whole thing has a certain resonant frequency that is quite painful when whatever you are playing hits that note.

I don't have all 10 speakers, only 8 but it helps.
