  • Saturday run

I gave the mother in law's GTI a run today. It has only done 600km but it feels plenty quick. It had no difficulty keeping in front of my mate's 323i wagon and my wife's MX5 (with another friend driving - not the missus!).

Giving the GTI some stick from the lights was interesting - squealing tyres and some mild axle tramp, but the BMW was left standing. The car feels at home on winding roads, but it might be a little too soft for me. I reckon I might stiffen the suspension if it were my car. It's better tied down than the MX5 though which, though pleasant at moderate speeds, isn't a sporty drive at all IMO.

Anyway, it was great to be out in the country air.

Thanks to Ash for the pics.

Nice pictures I've never seen the E90 3-series wagons until now! All cars are looking good though. The new MX-5 is starting to look better in my books now that I've seen more of it.
    Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
    Present: Mk3 Golf variant.

Very good, Shane. You caught my half-asleep observation before I deleted it.
