  • Potential new Jetta owner

Hi guys, in the process of getting a new car for work at the moment.

Currently we've got a Skoda Ovtavia RS, which is my wife's car, and I'm looking at a new Jetta 147 in salsa red for myself, with a VW bodykit, leather, MDI, and bluetooth.

Has anyone else got a Jetta with the factory body kit? How do you guys find the 147 Jetta?

    Hey mate,

I'm driving a Jetta 2.0T at the moment and think they are a gem. It was my parents car, a black one with leather and 18s that has 105,000kms on the clock and only one drama since new (ac compressor died).

They're a great car, excellent value for money for both performance and luxury. I think that, like the RS Skoda, they're very under-rated and on par with things like the Mazda 6 MPS and 2006 WRX.

I've driven it to work in lazy 'D' mode many times, but also in tiptronic and S through the Royal National Park, Bells line, Putty Road and Old Pacific Highway and it's a great machine. It's a massive step up over my Golf IV GTI and very pracital to. The Jetta's boot is ENORMOUS!!

Check out this review of the American VW Jetta GLI 2.0T. It applies to the Jetta 147 sold here.

      Hi,

I own a 2006 turbo petrol jetta, bought it second hand and have been extremely happy with it. Very agile car - handles like a dream and has great acceleration off the mark and at speed. I keep finding new features I wasn't aware of too Agree with the massive boot - its bigger than the magna I used to have which was pretty huge in itself. Its basically a golf gti but with the benefits of a sedan and with a more upmarket look. You wont be disappointed.

I used to have a Jetta before it was written off in May by hail.

It was an awesome car,and although I now have a new Honda Accord Euro,I miss my Jetta, and would buy another in a heart beat.

If you already own an Octavia RS with DSG then you'd be familiar with the engine and car performance because it's pretty much the same car underneath with probably less weight and different dynamics of a wagon/sedan?
