  • VW Mechanic/Workshop Melbourne

I am seriously looking at a GT TDI in Melbourne, but living in Adelaide means I have to rely on a local w/shop that could do a pre purchase inspection and probably a service before I buy the car, the RACV is probably ok but not sure if they really see enough of these VW's to be able to spot any potential issues with them, my main concern is the car is in good mechancal repair and even more importantly it has not been bingled.

Does anyone know of a good w/shop that could do both, other than the dealers who would charge the proverbial arm and leg?

    Cheers

I can't help with the mechanical stuff, but if the car is Bayside, I can run VAGCOM over it if you like. PM me if I can help

I don't know anyone good to have a look at it but you can get a free check on VicRoads online to make sure the car hasn't been stolen, doesn't have finance and has never been written off etc. All you do is put in the rego plates. I did this on mine before I purchased. I think I'm too trusting as I never got a pre-inspection check on mine . Still had 12 months warranty left and I'm going to most likely extend.

Here is a link to the vicroads site:

      Thanks,

You should give James a call down at Audvolks. Audvolks | Performance Audi Servicing and Repairs!

He might be a little busy to book you in immediately though. Still, give it a shot.
