I last insured my WRX before i sold it with Ryno insurance services. I was paying $2125 with Just cars. They practically halved my bill. Was paying $945.
So maybe worth a try if anyone is paying way to much for their Jetta/GTI. http://www.rynoinsurance.com.au
Mines leased in Melbourne and was $874 using the the lease companies provider CGU Insurance. At the time the RACV quote was about $1,100.
ScottH,
Is your lease only finance or including operating as well?
Finance only, the wet lease (operating) had FBT implications for me. I chose the dry lease (which is pre-tax) and took another 10k as a "car allowance" on my payslip. The FBT got swallowed up by the company, I never saw the bill. So I reckon it was the way to go - small amount of work to do a log book to establish work usage was the only pain.
Quotes for me were
GIO 618, RAC WA 623, Alliance 652, QBE 701, Shannons 839.
Went with SGIO 488 - 2 yr replacement, 65% NCB, basic excess $350.
No winscreen cover but now thinking of adding it even with life guarentee on repairs.
