    Hi Guys,

I think this topic has come up a few times but...

What seat covers do you guys have for your golf?

    I saw these

VW GOLF 5 GTI LEATHER SEAT COVERS & DOOR TRIMS - eBay Seat Covers, Interior, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 05-Aug-10 22:34:31 AEST)

They look really nice but they are $850 :O - they are leather... I mean if they are full leather then awesome but its heaps for something I cant actual see or touch before buying!!

    What have you guys got?

I would be wearisome of these ebay ones.
They claim the first picture is what they look liek fitted but the stitching is in red, not silver like the ones thety are selling so the picture is of the genuine leather seats.

Make sure the rear backing of the seat cover isn't going to ruin the original seat otherwise you will be up for an expensive replacement bill.
Also make sure these will be a direct fit for the seat shape otherwise they may move around and cause problems.

Also note that the GTI should have side airbags in the front seats and there is contention as to whether or not the fitting of seat-covers will void your warranty/insurance as they may inhibit the deployment of the airbags during an accident.

These are not seat covers, these are a replacement for the existing material which has to be removed. I'm not sure how much fitting will cost but there would be at least a days work for a professional so at least $800.

As well as all of the above issues..WHY put Leather seat covers over Leather Seats??

Are you going to buy some covers for the covers?

Even fabric seats arent designed for covers, it actual causing more damage..pilling etc, to the seat with them on, rubbing etc.

Clean your leather seats as required with a suitable cleaner and thet will hold up nicely, and much more comfortable.
