Which 'style' of bottle opener was in the 2008 GTIs?

hi all

recently bought my 08 model GTI which sadly didn't come with the bottle opener/divider. Searched everywhere to no avail.

On the net I've seen two types, one plain stainless, and the other with black plastic covering on part of it.

Could someone please confirm whether both options would fit, and which was the 'original' one supplied in 2008?

Well the bottle opener isn't just for opening bottles, it's part of the cup holder.

My 07 Golf GT came with the one with the black rubber bits on the ends.

DubSteve...perhaps if the R32 'pen' also had to serve as a drink holder divider, you might find it useful too?

Just order the stainless one if you like it, the stainless/plastic one was introduced with the MY08 as a cost/weight cutting measure.

Both are identical sizes, I keep the stainless/plastic one that came with the car in the manual binder and purchased a stainless one for the divider as it looks better.
