  • ESP Not Standard on MKV GTI/R32?

I just noticed on the VW Aus website that ESP is optional for all models in the golf Range...can this be right?..for the R32 and GTI im talking about.

    Robbery!

I demand an inquisition, I mean imposition, I mean implementation...

Just put the proper things in the car without optioning it DAMMIT!

ESP stops you going sideways.... why would you want it in the first place?

err the standard option list on the VWA site i think is a bit flawed. it says that xenon headlights are neither an option nor standard on the R32. riiiight!

here is an accurate spec sheet for the GTI

It says that ESP is standard

VW Aus should be more careful...Toyota and Lexus got proper F'd a few years ago from having dodgy information on their website.

Is strange because I built the Volkswagen Finance Aus website and the lawyers took forever going over it...have also built Mitsubishi websites and they were the same...

I think what happened with Toyota was that they said something was standard and it wasnt and they got sued...and the guy won...something along those lines anyway

MINI Australia found themselves forking out a few sets of some very groovy luggage sets to compensate MINI Checkmate (special edition) purchasers after their website said the cars came with climate control, but upon delivery only standard air conditioning was fitted.

Our August 06 MY07 build GTI came with ESP.

After taking my DSC equipped MINI on the skid pan at Eastern Creek it is truly amazing at what these systems can do!!! I doubt I'll ever buy another new car without stability control.

On paper - DBW can do some incredible things but I'm keen to know how efective it is? Does the car just become more predictable to controll or does it just bring the car to a halt without rolling it?

For me....it stops the car becoming out of shape when you might quite like it to, however a couple of times it has done its job (especially in the wet) when it has been called on in unforeseen circumstances.

I think its worth every cent if it is an option to purchase.
