difference betwen my05 and my06 gti

hello ever one,

iv just bought a 2005 gti, and i have been looking at a few upgrades like apr anti sway bars but they say 2006+ what the heck is the difference betwen the 2 model years iv tryed looking but cant find any thing

2005 and some 2006 GTI have an AXX engine while 2006 on have BWA engines. Apart from that I don't know.

oh i see, its still strange that it says 2006+ for sway bars

From what I've read the MY05 has stronger engine internals. Don't know for certain though.

The 2005 had interior stuff like the active headrests and another A/C vent in the centre console.

It supposedly had forged pistons. GolfMkV.com - Volkswagen Golf, GTI, and Rabbit Forums should have all of those answers.

active headrests tilt forward during a collision reducing the severity of whiplash
