how to remove plastic engine cover safely

I asume that you have the TDI. Top left corner, when looking at the engine from the front, there is M6 bolt or nut, undo it and pull the plastic cover up to remove it, pull one corner at the time.

Make sure the engine is nice and warm before you do it and use a nice blob of grease on the rubber grommets so it is easy to do next time. Have fun
