2010 Jetta VIN

Hi All

Apologies if this information is elswhere on the board that I can't find:

Picking up my 2010 Jetta in a couple of days and would like to know how to read the VIN.

Lets say your VIN is wvwzzz1kz9u012345
The first W means it is European
The V means it is a Volkswagen
The second w means it is a passenger car
the Zs are filler and mean nothing
The 1k is model variant (mk5 are 1k, Mk4 is 1J
The z is filler again
The 9 is model year (in this case it's a 2009 model. If it's a 2010 it would be an A)
The U is the build location - in the case of U it means South Africa
The numbers aftewards are your serial number
