  • Chinese Double Din all in 1

    Evening All,

Bought my wife one of these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/VW-DVD-GPS-DI...79236516206858 of ebay. The unit fits well into the dash. The problem i'm having with it getting the steering wheel controls to work. I have been in contact with seller & he has advised somethings to try VW Steering wheel control Video instruction - but the I still can't get it to work. This is what it's supposed to display Steeling wheel control - any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards
    Dave

Mate the eBay link is broken and the "Instructional Videos" don't really show anything. Perhaps you could lodge a complaint with Paypal (if you paid that way) and go from there.

      Hi Buckets,

Been thinking along the same lines. I paid by Paypal. I really dont like the taste of humble pie that the wife keeps serving up. New link to same product from the seller http://cgi.ebay.com.au/VW-DVD-GPS-DI...79236516206858

      Thanks
      Dave

Don't worry about a little humble pie mate........It's almost a staple food for married men!

Seriously though, good luck with getting a favourable outcome.

            Hi JY086,

Nope GPS is having a hissy fit as well. Sometimes cant find software, other times system just cycles. I wouldn't be annoyed if I could get just the vol to work.

            Regards

You get what you pay for, they're a cheaply manufactured bug ridden unreliable POS to put it bluntly. The ads are very misleading, they claim absurd retail prices and most if not all of the photos are photochopped to make it look better then it is.

There are thousands of posts on golfmkv.com about the waywell and similar units and heaps of posts around here about those units and the AVC ones.

Sometimes they work with the car, sometimes they don't, sometimes they partially work and so on.

If you want something with a great interface, that's user friendly and that just works you can't go past the RNS 510 for around a thousand dollars (used/refurb) from ebay.

I agree with Mav here. I personally have a WD6050, and for ME it works great. I'm in IT and i'm used to dealing with all sorts of buggy software/computers.
I can deal and work out all its faults. I got mine installed for a total of $340, and it does everything I want it to. But not without hassle.
