Welcome to the forums and congrats on your order. The Golf is known as a Rabbit in Seppoland (USA), that's where your badge comes from...

      Welcome!

Welcome to our forum. Most of our Mk5 owners seem to either have TDIs or GTIs so please give us your impressions of the FSI when you get it. How long???

          Welcome to VWwA bbqrose

          Congrats on order

Rabbit's were originally Golfs manufactured in the US in the lat 1970s early 80s.
Then when US Factory shutdown the Mk2 German built Golf was sold as the Golf till last year when VWoA relaunched the Golf V as the Rabbit

Another welcome, and another nice vehicle! The Jetta FSI Turbo was our second choice after the GTI, but the GTI was just too damn good to pass on...

thanks everyone for the warm welcome!
i'm getting the car in about 10 days, it's coming straight from the docks. =)
i'm actually still on my L's and will be getting my license in a month or so after my exams. i got the golf on the drive away special, saving me 3-4K.
my boyfriend will be try out the GTI and R32 soon, so he'll give the opinion of the diff between those and the FSI!

This is my first post in the forum. I have my new R32 for 2 weeks and love every minute of it. I test drove the R32 and GTI back to back and like both cars. However, I found that the GTI is very similar to my 12-year old VR6 in terms of handling and it's not convincing enough for the change. I was instantly sold when I hear the R32 engine sound and it's powerful engine just feel like another class to my VR6. I have no complain of the build quality of the Mark V Golf and it's 10 times better than the Mark III.
