Hi, I'm getting this noise under the back of my car (05 mk5 golf 2.0 fsi) and it sounds like something rolling around in a metal tin - it doesn't last too long but the car feels weaker than before. It initially happened like under 2000rpm at about 1800rpm as I accelerated up the hill but now it's also happening when I suddenly press on the accelerator on a flat ground. I have had this warning light on the other day heading back to Sydney from Wollongong and it was the exhaust system failure waring. If it's needing a cat converter replacement, how much should I expect to pay for european aftermarket parts and labour? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey mate, sorry to hear about the zorst... Are you looking at replacing the whole exhaust, or just the cat?

I paid $600 to have a pair replaced with generic ones on my SLK Merc.
