The whiteline bars have nothing to prohibit lateral movement of the bar through the poly bush. This is why they shed their grease and then make noise.
All of the other bars have stops that don't allow this lateral movement.

This. Its just a squeak when you go over speed bumps or the like. just annoying.

hey johnbu, where was this $254 installed? in melbourne? I might get mind done as well. I heard you could use the OEM bushings rather than the supplied whiteline ones to prevent the noise occurring.

Never mind. I saw the post on the link and it was through Pedders and it was for a GTI. I need one for the R32 but I might get it done at Volkspower along with my 7500km service. Hopefully it doesn't affect the warranty.

If you want one for the R32 Whiteline have a solid adj 22mm .
It has stops. Use the original R32 22mm bushes and cups and you will get no noise.
            Set to the outer holes.

I just installed a 24mm adjustable on the medium setting. Eliminates 95% of understeer, I'd say tyre choice is letting me down now. Sway bar over struts/springs is a winner in terms of bang for buck. I also have no intentions of changing these items on my car so I'm in the same boat. I ended up using bigger bushings as the standard whiteline ones are too big for standard mounts, and i also got some upgraded mounts too. Good luck!

                thanks for all the info..

I may request to retain the stock GTI bushes.

ml16, I'm assuming you got the Whiteline sway bar?

                what bushes/mounts did you get?
