Has anyone had any trouble with their handbrake?

ive got a 07 golf and was parked on a hill... long story short it rolled down the hill about 10 minutes after i had parked and went inside...

of course i should of had it in gear which i didnt, but just seeing if anyone else has had anything else like this???

I have but not in my R32.
Handbrakes that work on rear disks etc "may" loosen off a bit as they cool. Lesson learned the hard way for you about being in gear or park.

yeah i learnt my lesson the hard/stupid way..

and there is about a 80mm crack down the front bumper under the front headlight... rolled into the back of another car... no damage to that one... and yes its a manual

so to get it fixed should i be able to take it to any sort of decent smash repairs place?
or find a 'plastic welder' or the like... do they exist?
can anyone reccommend one in brisbane?

I have found the handbrake on my 08 Golf to be pretty underpowered. On any sorta hill u gotta give it some to make it work. But yeah deff keep it in gear

How do you define it as underpowered when clearly your car has never allowed the car to roll down the hill. Sounds like it's got more than enough power to do the job.

I park on a hill, but on steep hills it struggles. I was saying in relation to other vehicles such as a land cruiser or falcon with the same style its piss poor. It will do the job but you have 2 pull hard on it, harder than id like to, im no girl either lol
