Problem with internal lighting

Hi All,

I have lighting problem with my 04 golf TDI. I bought it second hand. When I open the door, the interior lights don't switch on. Only the foot paddle lights are on. The rocker switch is sitting in the centre postion. Does anyone know what is wrong with it? I switched the rocker switch to the right and all the lights have been turned on.

Does it only happen with 1 door? Have you checked the others? Could be a faulty sensor/trigger on the driver's door

Actually it happens to all doors. What sensor are we talking about? Am I able to fix it or do i need to get a specialist to do the repair for me

What is the number plate of this car? TFX-7??
