Good to go with R17 wheels? Not GTI!

Hi, I got my Golf MKV comfortline 2.0FSI, found a set of used 17inch denvers off GTI MkV for $400,
is it fit on my Golf? i am not doing racing and just want my car looks good and what type of tyres example: 235/45/R17 or 225/45/R17 in term of quality and price..

235's are a more common size which makes them cheaper bro, however the 225's should be better suited for cornering load's on the tire sidewalls but probably pretty insignificant.
