Anyone know whether its possible to fit a Gti Steering wheel to my GT? friend has a crash damaged GTi and want to sell me the wheel. both mine and his are manual so no DGS issue but he claims that he doesn't have the airbag anymore , apparently it didn't go off so I assume he must have sold that seperatelly? Any DIY tutorials out there?

Why limit yourself, just find a GTI wheel and put a R32 badge on it. The wheels are identical and the only difference is the small GTI or R badge. You can buy a blank badge to go in that area so your car doesn't loom lame with a GTI or R32 emblem

I dont like the red stitching that comes with the GTI wheel. At least with the R32 wheel its all black stitching.

What red stitching that comes with the GTI wheel? Only the edition 30 came with red stitching which wasn't sold in Australia.

            GTI steering wheel defanitly fits.
I put one on my GT over 6 months ago, with DSG paddles. All is fine and looks much better, use you'r original airbag.
Contact me inf you need fitting info, as is quite easy when you know how. Hardest part is the springs that retain the air-bag.

Oh really? Actually, ur right. I must be mistaken. I kept thinking the GTI wheel came with red stitching?
So does that mean the DSG boot cover is in black stitching as wel?

thanks for clearing that up mav. yeah i'll look into the GTI steering wheel then too.

Just curiously, would u happen to know if there would be anything else i'd need apart from the steering wheel to make the DSG flappy paddles work on my jetta?

My jetta came with the multifunction wheel. Think of it as a GTI wheel without the flat bottom. But If i'm wanting to upgrade to a GTI/R32 wheel with the flappy paddles, would there be anything else i'd need to make the DSG flappy paddles work?

Some coding of the can bus.

Not sure if Vag-Com can do this, but dealers can.

ps. David, do you still have the original wheel from your GT w/ Paddles?
