It was with Driver Dynamics and was a bloody awesome day. So simple to sign up, I expressed interest, they booked me in and I then deposited $100 into their account with $175 owing on the day.
There is a morning briefing over coffee then you all head out onto the track and park at each corner as an instructor talks you through how to tackle each turn. After that you have an instructor do a flying lap with you riding shot gun (in your car)You are then on your own or you can have extra instruction at will.
Food and drinks are included..... I cant wait to head back

Nice driving, as little as I know you seemed to be ontop of those cones well, what tyres were you on?
One thing though, it didn't look too interesting for your hands, planted on the wheel the whole time, does it get boring not playing with the gears like in a manual?

I was on 90% worn Conti SP2's running 35 psi cold. I'd have to say that I would of had a bit more fun in a manual however on the day I was very busy (my brain) as it was my first track day and you have a lot to think about when it is your daily driver.
You cant tell on the vid but into turn 1 and turn 5 the rear end becomes pretty light and sketchy under brakes as you are braking from over 200 km/h so it aint as boring as it looks bro

You can hire one on the day for bugger all. Um.... what else.. you dont need an extinguisher fitted, you dont need a seccondary tie down on your bonnet either basically drive in off the highway and onto the circuit!! Verrrry Nicccce!
Was a piece of piss, nice and simple.

Well done
I used to do a lot of similar runs to that.
Joining a car club can be worthwile as you get a basic cams license and go 4 car sprints etc.
It never looks real fast from a cam but it is deceptive.

I have done a number of days with driver dynamics - very good, imformative and makes you addicted!
Due to no offical timming on the day, they are able to run these days without the normal constraints to your vechile.
They do a day at Haunted Hills in morwell - $100 and prob my favourite track as it suits the VW well!
I busted a tyre on corner 7/8 when i tried to stright line it - got the car on two wheels tho!

Good job!
I've got one coming up this Saturday at Sandown.
I'll be in my A3 2.0T DSG.
Did a fun day at Winton in Feb which was excellent.
As it was a fun day, it was only $35 which was unbelievably cheap but you were on the track with a lot of people in beaten up Commodores, Falcons, etc which got a bit scary when they got close to my car.
Just changed pads and discs plus fitted some new Falken 452s during the week so throughly looking forward to it!
Bit apprehensive about the closeness of some of those Sandown walls though...MY10 S3 Sportback - 6Sp Manual - Sprint Blue

Ha haa have fun bro, I am hanging to get back to the track I had a ball!
The walls are OK just dont look at them LOL look to the apexThe only wall which is a bit scary is the one just after the back straight on turn 6 as I was braking from 210 km/h then tipping it in and hitting apex at about 140 km/h so the rear end can get a little squirmy and light
You can easily un-settle the car under hard braking if you clip the outside ripple strips on turns 2 and 7 as well.
You will be right, just go a little harder each lap

haha sounds excellent!
I'm pumped, can't wait.
Have you done any suspension/handling mods to your car?
Whiteline sways, etc?
I'll hopefully have a rear sway in by Saturday so hoping to get rid of some of that horrid understeer i experienced at Winton (I was running on 20% P-Zero Nero's though).MY10 S3 Sportback - 6Sp Manual - Sprint Blue

After the track day I fitted a Whiteline rear sway bar which made an awesome difference. I have also fitted a full APR 3" system and had the stage 2 tune done, just waiting on my intake from the US. Cant wait to hit the track again since I fitted the sway
You should fit it Friday so you can drool over the improved handling on the saturday bro
