Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The fuse thing sounds suspicious. Check tabs on fuse holders to see if they are tight enough to hold the fuses properly. Apparently this can cause the PRNDS flashing and no starting. There is a case of this on the TDI club site. Good luck with it.

      cheers for that passatb6
it does sound like a computer problem
previously to me it seemed liek the cars were not priming when unlocked and weren't getting enough fuel to start

I found this one which best describes the problem

        strange findings

the ECU was not sitting in its cradle and is scratched, evidently it has been removed before.

Left the car at Mike Webers to do overnight cold start test, both mornings it started no problem. This damn thing... had the ECU contacts and earth point cleaned and hopefully it will be ok.

Even went as far as removing the ECU and putting it in the fridge, what a PITA to chase an intermittent problem
