  • 2.0 TDI DSG 120000km Service - What's to be done and how much?

    Hi Brains-Trust

Any thoughts on the reasonability of this quote for service from my dear dealer. They have quoted circa $2000. I asked if for that price, I'd feel any difference; they suggested, not! I know that it's maintenance and of course I agree. It's the 'timing belt' procedure and extras ... Should I consider anything else, like shock absorbers?

I'm also in the market for tyres. The second replacement [Original Continental Contact lasted 66000km, current Continental Premium Contact now 54000km], I have been considering the Michelin Primacy. Any thoughts?

    Regards

I would stick with Continental tyres. Had Michelin Premacy on my T5 and they didn't last 35,000km.

      Continental it should be?

Thanks for the advice Transporter. There is a Conti Sport 2 [or something like that], which seems to be the natural evolution? I mean, I have an average of 60000km with Continental.
