  • Door Handle Alignment Issue - Mark V

Both my front door handles have been out of alignment for a while and I've seen quite a few others as well with similar problems. My local dealer said there was no adjustment and it might be the tension in the cable to the door lock losing tension over time. Whilst he was correct there is no adjustment as such there is a flaw in the design of the door handle that causes the problem. The fix is easy (if you do it when you have the door trim off for another reason) and requires only some rubber (if the parts are missing) and some 5 minute epoxy.

My driver's door had this problem. Got it fixed by the dealer when the car was in for a service... I know if I pulled the door trims off it would end in disaster
