Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Great work on the video, bit jumpy but heaps better than those in-car vids of the nurburgring.
Did you have it in Sports mode?

Wish I had could edit video's & do all that kind of stuff.
Good stuff.
I used the Delkin Gecko mounting system which should not shake so muchand I had to run at 25 frames a second as 50 per second was heaps shakier!
And yes I did use sport mode which also helped heaps. I filmed 3 other clips which had reduced zoom and less shake.
Next track day I will work something better out

Oh were you? Sweet!
Was just a drive day with Driver Dynamics. I have been hanging to get on any circuit and with these guys you dont need to be a club member, have a fire extinguisher, full flame suit blaa blaaa blaaa so I gave it a go.... sure I will be back soon - loved it!!

You might like to look into the track familiarisation days run at Phillip Island they're about $100 cheaper but you'll need the license and fire extinguisher. (No flame suit though)
Same sort of deal, lots of laps and instructor time.
If you're into the video side of things check out the GoPro cameras, they make it sooo easy.GoPro Official Store: Wearable Digital Cameras for Sports

And yes - stock exhaust just a re-tune. If anything I will just do my dump pipe and a hi-flow cat as that makes up 95% of total (aftermarket) exhaust gains

Thats sounds like a bloody good price for getting on the Island. I'm just going to have to get organised - fit an exstinguisher and get the license
Have checked out the GoPro camera's before for mountain biking, would have been ideal for the track as they are not as heavy and would not bounce and shake as much, rather get mine hooked up right though as the bloody thing cost me $2k
Cheers Pete

My car is the same as yours then. I've had the stage 1 remap and I've been trying to find a dump at a price where I don't have to sell a kidney to be able to purchase. Have you decided on which dump you are going to use ?MY08/DSG/Recode Stage 1 Remap/161.7kw/Eurojet DP.

I would love to get a reputable exhaust shop to make me a dump pipe (to save money) but think I will just pay the extra $1000.00 to get an APR section, as I will then get a free re-tune once it is fitted plus the confidence in quality.
I also just fitted a Whiteline rear sway bar which has totally transormed mid corner to exit understeer (especially under acceleration!)... best mod for a FWD! Cant wait to hit the track again
