although the golf tdi i drove wasnt as nearly as bad as our 407 diesel.

The pugoets complete lack of respensiveness untill 2000 rpm then a sudden pull up till like the rev limiter at like 4500 makes for good fun though haha

I always thought the Turbo lag in the Golf/Jetta TDis were pretty minor? Does it really account for the poor 0-100km/h times of around mid 9s?

Can someone tell me the model differences in JEtta TDI between 2006 - 2009 ?

did the engine receive any revisions? Were they always common rail diesels?
      What does that even mean?

Welll guys despite most people suggesting to buy the diesel, and i was pretty much happy with getting a diesel, dad didn't want one. So we bought a Automatic 2008 Jetta FSI 15,000kms for $26,000. Optioned with leather, CD stacker and fog lamps . Car is pretty much brand new, still has the new car smell. I'm happy with it

Thanks Anthony, um i believe the colour is Blue Graphite, its kind of a gun metal mixed with blue in it and Blue Graphite was the only one that was similar. I'll post some pics up when we pick it up on wednesday.

What is it that makes it so slow on paper in a straight line? I thought torque is what counts.
With neck snapping 320nm and only a few kw less.... why is it slower than the FSI from 0-100?
What is the rev limit / power band like?

                thanks
It comes down to the fact the diesel only has a workable rev range of about 2000rpm, whereas a petrol engine is usually twice that. You change gears more often in a diesel, 3rd gear in fact for the 100kph dash, whereas the GTI etc can do it in second. If the oiler could hit 6000rpm and produce power all the way, it'd be similar.

My Jetta was Reflex Silver,so I am biased, but looks best in Blue Graphite IMHO.

Also looks great in Grey and Black.

Not sure about Red,Gold, and White...think they are too plain for the Jetta.
