  • cheapest place to get lowered springs?

Where is the cheapest place that I can get a set of either H&R or Eibach lowered springs for my GT TDi? Cheapest I've seen is about $250 for some Eibach's on ebay + delivery.

try orange tuning in the uk. I got mine (polo gti) delivered for $300 odd, but the exchange wasn't anywhere near it is nowadays. That's for new H&R's.

Ive always found its the freight fee on springs that makes it rather uneconomical to buy from the US/ UK.. Ive had H&R springs priced up from the US previously and the freight was more then what the springs were worth.

Freight ex UK/Europe is expensive and makes it uneconomical.

        www.tirerack.com can supply ex USA.

even with freight, it is slightly cheaper from them.

If youre keen to save a few $, send them an email and ask for a quote

However, you lose the aussie warranty (which may not be a worry for springs only).

Also some local suppliers will give you discounted installation if you buy from them, so this might be worthwhile pursuing/negotiating with locals for

I agree with gareth its easier just go direct to a H&R or eibach distributor in australia.. check http://www.eibach.com.au/eibach_partners.html for eibach outlets

*edit, just noticed there is no disti in SA, shipping from melb could be an option?

Ok well I started looking for some H&R springs but they dont seem to have any listed for a TDI model? They seem to have one universal springs that caters for all the Golf V models? Thats seems a bit strange doesn't it, surely the springs rates on a golf with a heavy diesel motor would be different from one fitted with a 1.6L ?
Can anyone advise a model H&R spring that caters for my specific model?

Unfortunatelly these american sites dont seem to know what a TDI is, they only cater for the standard Rabbit and the GTi, you tell them you have a GT TDI and they are like" What's that? Just get the GTi springs they are all the same". Which is bull of course - Euro sites seem to have a seperate parts number for all the different model Golfs that exist. I also doubt that the springs from a Passat would fit a golf.
