Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi lads
What is your opinion on buying a Jetta? Perhaps I'm being a bit to sensitive about the Mexican build quality I've read in some road tests. Are they as economical as they say? Any feedback good or bad would be appreciated. I hope I'm on the right thread. Thanks

    Welcome!

G'day and welcome to our forum. Don't know about the build, however I can vouch for the low fuel consumption! Check our posts regarding this with Golf 5.

      Welcome maybe

Jetta's are of good build IMO some might say best in class.
The Mexicans are the only place outside of Germany that build the New Beetle Cabrio so that must prove how much trust VW have in VW Mexico.

Heres a link on the factory in Puebla, Mexico http://www.mobility-and-sustainabili...ndorte_406.asp

As for fuel economy you'll have to research the Diesel section ( http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...splay.php?f=28 ) I'm sure there is info there

      Good Luck
