Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Is there anyone that can forward me to the Mk5 stud pattern information? Are all Mk5 Golfs and Jetta's the same?

5x112. Not sure of offset tho. I have an R32 and the offset is 51mm. I have pre-sold my 18x7.5 5x112 51mm factory rims to a '07 Jetta owner c/o the dealer and apparantely they will fit fine

It is impossible to get any decent rims with this offset. After months of research tho, i have found that i can fir 45/46mm offset and still clear the struts, guards and calipers. With 5x112 and going to 45/46 mm, it opens up a whole range of rims to you, inc. original Audi rims if want to go down the VAG look path.

your definatley right there blue R32. I was quite shocked when i pulled my wheels off my GTI and found out they had ET 51. I've just purchased a complete set of brand spanking new genuine Porsche 997 Carrera S wheels in 19X8.(front wheels) They are a 57ET but have a 130/5 PCD. H&R make track adpaters which convert VW|hubs with a 57.1mm centre bore to a Porsche centre bore of 71mm amd take it from 5/112 to 5/130 The spacers are 15mm wide so they will give me an ET42. Things will be tight with the 19/235/35 Conti tires. Just waiting for the Licorice to turn up and i can bolt the suckers on and give it the H&R lowering treatment. Please don't ask how much the rims cost me as i'm still recovering from the purchase.
Of course it's not going to work if you use rusty bullets!
